Haroldeans ready for Leeds cup showdown
Real:
FOOTBALL HAROLDEANS remain on course for a potential treble after booking their place in the final of the Harold Feldman Trophy.
The Merseysiders routed Reich Insurance Blue 8-0 in what boss Mike Bloomberg described as “the most complete performance” of his tenure.
Haroldeans – who are in MJSL title contention and the Shonn Trophy quarter-finals next month – will play Leeds Maccabi in the Feldman final.
Their semi-final win never looked in doubt after Adam Shiffman fired a hattrick. Max Green, Jack Bookey, Bobby Fishel and Adam Boyars also registered to ensure it would be a smooth passage.
Haroldeans boss Bloomfield said: “In all my years involved with the club, this was one of the most complete performances. We were so dominant and ruthless in front of goal.
“The attitude and commitment of the players was first-class. We now face a tough examination against Leeds.”
Leeds had to work somewhat harder in their last-four tie with Maccabi Manchester Yellow, after surviving a secondhalf fightback to squeeze through 3-2.
Louie Hewson’s brace and Alistair Landy had Leeds cruising before the home side responded via Rafi Dines and Aaron Englander.
But Leeds clung on and boss Adam Kristall said: “It’s a great achievement for us to be in the final. We want to end the season with silverware and this gives us the opportunity to do so.”
Michael Gaswirth is backing his Reich Insurance Rangers White side to throw the MJSL title race wide open.
Yossi Mann, Simeon Goodman, Dan Vandermolen and Ovadia Klyne helped them crush South Manchester 4-0.
Gastwirth said: “Everyone seems to think it’s done and dusted. But we don’t think so. There’s no chance we will just hand over the trophy to Haroldeans.”
