Yavneh gets a great report
LOCAL AUTHORITY officials who visited Yavneh College to conduct a oneday inspection were impressed with what they saw, according to feedback received by the school.
In the report sent to Spencer Lewis, the headmaster of the Borehamwoodbased academy, the lead inspector praised both pupils and staff, stating that “teachers use lesson time well and have high expectations”.
Tasks for students offered “high levels of challenge” and the pupils were “confident and enthusiastic learners”.
Students told inspectors that “bullying is very rare and would always be dealt with immediately”.
The overall conclusion was that “the school has demonstrated that it continues to provide an extremely high level of provision for pupils across all areas”.
Mr Lewis said: “The visit was arranged by us in order to ensure we maintain the highest standards, given that it is a while since we had an Ofsted visit.” The educational watchdog last visited the school in 2011.
The local authority inspection was designed “to mirror a potential Ofsted inspection”.
