Strong fin­ish from Korem

CY­CLING NOGA Korem, 26, of the Cy­cling Academy, is one of the small band of Is­raeli women rid­ers com­pet­ing pro­fes­sion­ally in in­ter­na­tional events.

She placed an out­stand­ing fourth in the sec­ond En­duro World Se­ries event, the Blue Moun­tain Down­hill race in Tas­ma­nia, against the world’s best moun­tain bik­ers, show­ing im­prove­ment in both down­hill and cross-coun­try dis­ci­plines.

Else­where, in Bel­gium, the Pa­jot Hills clas­sic, Goolk – Goolk Road Race, re­sulted in a huge bunch fin­ish after 3:1:31 with Rotem Gafi­novitz (WM3 Team) and Omer Shapira (un­spon­sored) in the same time as the win­ner and Shani Bloch-Davi­dov, rid­ing in her new team colours of Team Velo-Con­cept Women, who was placed at +3:32.

ICA (Is­rael Cy­cling Academy), now com­pet­ing in the higher-level ProCon­ti­nen­tal ‘league’ event, the Vuelta Ci­clista a La Rioja, Lo­gramo-Logromo, re­sulted in Dan Turek of the Czech Re­pub­lic best placed in 15th in 3:26:16.
