CATH KIDSTON

-

Who doesn’t love a bit of CK in their wardrobe? Whether it’s a purse, overnight bag or even an apron, Kidston knows the real meaning of flower power. Since her brand’s first launch in, what she calls a “glorified junk shop” in London’s Holland Park in 1994, selling hand-embroidered tea towels and brightly renovated furniture, its expansion is truly inspiring. With a huge flagship store nestled next to Fortnum & Mason and global success everywhere from South Korea to the USA. Kidston continues to wow offering all sorts of designs from cutesy tiny rosebuds to cheery polka dots. Nowadays, Kidston caters for children and babies too, with a strong emphasis on her fashion clothing line that seems to improve with every collection. She’s even worked with Disney.

As one friend said: “it’s a bit like Marmite; you either love it or hate it.” At times it can be a little overwhelming, but I wouldn’t turn my nose up at any Cath Kidston gift. It’s quintessentially British in a quirky, quaint and feminine kind of way. I mean, who doesn’t love a rose-print eggcup? There’s no stopping the success of the original flower girl.
