THE KEY TO CARE

-

“FOR us it is about: how do you create active, stimulating lives for people and how do you engage them in the community? How do you make sure that, if it is important, somebody goes to synagogue? How do you involve them in a Seder?”

BARRY SWEETBAUM, SWEETTREE

“Compatibility is key. We find out a lot of background information about the person we’re looking after and match the carer with those requirements. They should have people looking after them whom they like and value. There should also be continuity (livein care or at least six continuous hours). We believe in live-in care. When people go into residential care, they’re divested of a lot of things that are important to them. ” ROBERT GARNETT, PILLARCARE

“Most people want to stay at home, surrounded by the familiar and their family. We have built wonderful care homes but what if we said: ‘What would it take to help everyone stay at home?’. I believe we can join the spirit of our community and technology, to help older people stay connected, live safely, be cared for and play a part in community. If we will it, it is no dream.”
