Sealed with a kiss

FOOTBALL DESCRIBED as a weak link by the manager of Temple Fortune before kickoff, Marc Hecht responded in the best possible manner by firing a four-goal salvo as FC Team’s promotion challenge gathered momentum.

Hecht was identified as a “weakness” by Fortune joint-manager Steven Black but a tactical reshuffle saw FC Team boss Mitch Young switch him from centre-back to central midfield.

In our online match preview, Black said: “We have identified some weaknesses and a style of play which we will look to impose on them. Marc Hecht is past his prime and the fact he’s now playing in defence shows he’s lost a yard of pace since his Glasgow Maccabi heyday. “We expect our quick front three to cause him nightmares.”

In the end it was Fortune chasing shadows and Young saluting a tactical master class. “We have finally found the right formation,” he said. “We are a force when everyone knows what they are doing and when we play to our strengths.

“It was a very pleasing performance. We played well, with special mention to my cousin Dylan Young who scored his first goal.” Mitch Young (2), Jon Breger, David Grossman, Adam Rones and Eitan Ben-Zion were the other scorers for FC Team. Zack Rich and Jordan Jay replied for Fortune.

Young added: “With three wins on the spin we go into Sunday’s cup game against Camden full of confidence.”
