Joel Nathan, who was recently reappointed general team manager for the next four years, ahead of the 2019 EMG in Budapest and 2021 Maccabiah in Israel.

A former captain at Wingate & Finchley, Myers described MGB as “one of the consistent features in my life.” Myers played for Wingate for 15 years before joining Maccabi London Lions where he is manager of the under-15 team.

Myers said: “I was honoured and excited when Joel approached me to be one of his assistants. I have known Joel since childhood and have fond memories representing MGB alongside him at the EMG in Amsterdam 1995, as well as having seen just what a great job he did at the last Maccabiah Games. I had no hesitation in saying yes and am looking forward to working with him and Daren over the next four years and to help build a successful framework for all our athletes.”

Nathan found his passion for coaching when he entered into a management role at Lions, where he has led junior teams to two league titles. He also led the MGB U16 Boys Football team to gold at the 2015 EMG in Berlin, which he describes as his “proudest sporting achievement to date”.

Nathan said: “I’m honoured to have such a key role. These events mean so much more than just sports competition. They bring together Jewish sportsmen and women from around the globe and we become united.”

General team manager Joel Nathan commented: “Andrew has a wealth of Maccabiah experience and that will be a major for the Games whilst I have been very impressed by Daren’s great eye for detail.”
