MGBSFL PREMIER DIVISION CAMDEN PARK 0 OAKWOOD A 4

● DAN KRISTALL insists Camden “have enough battling qualities to stay in the division” after the defending champions secured their third league victory. Toby Levy, Leor Sidle, Jonny Quinn and an own goal clinched the points in a game where Brad Wine, Joe Botchin and Josh Cuby impressed. Oakwood joint-manager Kristall said: “Ultimately, we had too much quality, power and pace for them and scored some nice goals, although we were quite wasteful for an hour.” Camden boss Stirling Kay said: “We came away thinking we could’ve made it a closer game if we had more attacking options. We were good defensively but have to do much better in the last third.”

SCRABBLE FC 6 TEMPLE FORTUNE A 1

SCRABBLE MANAGER Ray Abrahams believes patience was key as Scrabble maintained their excellent start with a convincing win, inspired by the in-form Craig Edwards. The striker scored twice, with the others coming via Ben Bowers, Lorian Madanes, Zak McLeod and Zak Summerfield as Scrabble made it six league games without defeat. Ray Abrahams said: “Fortune made it very difficult for us, working hard to deny us space and getting a lot of players behind the ball early on. But the game changed once we broke through and we were able to exploit the gaps as they came forward.” Michael Woolf scored the consolation for Fortune. Boss Simon Linden said: “We held our own for 40 minutes but unfortunately we do not have the squad to cope with three injuries that left us depleted in the second half.”

DIVISION TWO

REAL HENDON 2 CATFORD & BROMLEY 1

TWO GOALS from the returning Gav Noe inspired Real Hendon to one of the results of the day as they condemned joint-leaders Catford to their second consecutive defeat. Real’s Motty Korman remarked: “It was an excellent result against a team that is up there at the top of the table. It shows we can match most teams in the division when we have a full squad available.”

STRAW HAT PIRATES 2 BAYERN MINCHA 4 DANIEL HOLDER insists there is room for improvement after Bayern Mincha edged clear at the top of the table with a hard-fought win over the Pirates.
