FOOTBALL NATHAN Pitt’s fourgoal salvo enhanced Sedgley Park growing credentials.

In a nine-goal thriller, the new boys impressed with another eye-catching display. They romped to a 5-1 half-time lead, thanks to Pitt’s heroics, and further strikes from Osher Landes and Daniel Rabinowitz ensured there would be no way back for Reich.

Reich, who replied via Dan Feddy, Gary Freeman and Michael Gastwirth, continue to leak goals.

Reich director of football Gastwirth said: “It was a very poor display. Things have to improve.

“It looked as though the players didn’t want to be out there and it wouldn’t be wrong to say we were abysmal.

“We played a lot better in the second half but the damage had already been done. We have to be better all over the pitch, not just defensively.”

Adam Kristall branded his Leeds Maccabi players as “naïve” after losing precious ground in the title race.

The Yorkshireman were coasting thanks to a first-half strike from James Landes. But they were left stunned as Louis Rawlings and Jack Isaacs completed South Manchester’s comeback win.

Leeds boss Kristall was left bemused by his side’s late collapse and said: “I’m very frustrated. We played well for an hour and we should have smelt blood when we went ahead. We should have killed the game.

“Instead we were naive and were punished. We need to learn to be more ruthless.

“It’s very disappointing but we will come back stronger for it and learn from the experience.”

Elsewhere, a strong second-half display from Maccabi Manchester Blue saw them sweep aside Prestfield. Ben Loynds, Marley Rubins, Richard Myers and Andy Hatton struck after the break as Prestfield caved in.
