Bolle-wood

- BY DANNY CARO

FOOTBALL DARREN Yarlett saluted hot-shot Adam Bolle after he registered an impressive nine goals in two matches to boost London Lions’ promotion hopes in the Spartan South Midlands League first division.

Having re-signed for the Lions at the end of October, Bolle has made an immediate impact, scoring nine goals in his first seven matches.

But he doubled his tally with two outstanding performances lifting the Lions into the top four.

Bolle produced a stunning individual performance against Broadfields United, registering six goals.

The visitors had taken a third-minute lead but Bolle needed just 40 minutes to complete his first hat-trick before half-time.

Bolle added another three in the second half to seal a 6-3 victory.

The Lions went on to register their 10th league victory of the season with a 3-0 success over Rayners Lane last weekend.

Bolle carried on where he had left off against Broadfields, firing another hat-trick in a 3-0 win.

Lions coach Darren Yarlett said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the results and performances.

“The boys have been playing extremely well and their work-rate has been tremendous.

“But the headlines will rightly go to Adam Bolle whose finishing has been superb. He’s been carrying a bit of a niggle but has been thriving on excellent service from Austin Lipman, Adam Burchell and Jordan Marks.

“It took him a few games to get used to our style and system after rejoining the club but he has been fantastic.”

Lions have won 11 out of their last 12 matches in all competitions, including six consecutive victories in the league.

Yarlett commented: “Adam has brought physicality which we’d been lacking. He has great leadership qualities and has lifted everyone. He has brought a new dimension to the team and is a great target man who is improving game by game.”
