Aid volunteer claims Grenfell victims died in ‘Jewish sacrifice’

- BY ROSA DOHERTY

A VOLUNTEER working with victims of the Grenfell Tower fire has said the 71 people who died in the disaster were “burnt alive in a Jewish sacrifice”.

Tahra Ahmed, a conspiracy theorist who believes the 9/11 terror attack was faked by Jews, has been running an aid network helping those affected by the fire.

The 47-year-old claimed that Jews were responsible for the tragedy in a post on Facebook.

She said the tower, in west London, was owned by a Jewish property developer. It is in fact owned by Kensington and Chelsea Council.

“Hitler and the Germans were the victims of the Jewish conspiracy to destroy Germany,” she wrote.“Watch the live footage of people trapped in the inferno with flames behind them. They were burnt alive in a Jewish sacrifice.

“Grenfell is owned by a private Jewish property developer just like the Twin Towers. I wonder how much Goldman [Goldman Sachs,] is standing to make in the world’s most expensive real estate location [Kensington].”

Mark Gardner, of the Community Security Trust, said: “To describe the appalling Grenfell Tower disaster as a Jewish sacrifice is to reach a new depth of grotesque antisemitic racism.

“Worse is that the traumatised survivors have to grapple with the reality that one of those who claims to stand up for them seems to be primarily motivated by a vile hatred of Jews.”

Marie van der Zyl, Board of Deputies vice president said: “The Grenfell Tower tragedy catalysed an outpouring of grief and support, from people of all faiths and backgrounds, who were united in solidarity.

“It is shameful that a conspiracy theorist should misuse this tragedy as a platform for her extreme and repugnant views. We are sure those active in supporting the survivors of the Grenfell will want to ensure that such noxious individuals will not undermine their important work.”

Karen Pollock, chief executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, said: “This is a new low. What happened at Grenfell was the most terrible tragedy, but to see Holocaust language and antisemitic conspiracy theories about ‘Jewish control’ invoked to further a world view that Jewish people are responsible is deeply hurtful, dangerous and intentionally provocative.”

Councillors in Kensington and Chelsea have reportedly written to Sajid Javid, the Communities Secretary, over concerns that volunteers’ work with survivors is unmonitored.

Ms Ahmed’s comments came as the six-month anniversary of the tragedy was being marked with a national memorial service at St Paul’s Cathedral.
