FOOTBALL SIAN Williams will oversee Maccabi GB’s girls’ football squad ahead of this summer’s inaugural Maccabi Youth Games in Israel.

A former England internatio­nal, Williams helped Arsenal Ladies to the domestic treble twice. She has also managed the Wales women’s national team and has held roles at Watford and with the Hertfordsh­ire Schools FA head coach for girls under-14 and under-16.

Having earned 20 England caps, Williams was part of the 1995 World Cup squad to reach the quarter-finals in Sweden.

Williams said: “My time living abroad gave me an interest in meeting people from different cultures and countries which is exactly what the Maccabi Youth Games are all about.

“I am hugely looking forward to meeting the players and the rest of the delegation to experience life in a country I have not visited before.”
