Player power boosts Oaks

MGBSFL PREM DIV ML LIONS WHITE 0 OAKWOOD A 4

DAN KRISTALL praised his team’s strength in depth as Oakwood regained top spot from Hendon United after crushing an in-form Lions team at Rowley Lane. Brothers Tom and Sam Cantor were among a host of regulars missing, but strikes from Josh Cuby, Brad Wine, Jonny Quinn and Zack Collins edged the defending champions a point clear. “This was a brilliant away win,” said jointmanager Kristall. “Even with our injury list, we have such a fantastic squad. We now have a long break to try and recover some of the injured players for the clash with title favourites Hendon. Whatever squad we put out, we will be ready.”

DIVISION TWO

CATFORD & BROMLEY 0 BAYERN MINCHA 5

MGBSFL TOP-SCORER ADAM ELLIS (3) passed the 30-goal mark as table-toppers Bayern Mincha maintained their twopoint advantage over Mill Hill Dons with an emphatic victory over Catford. Samuel Leader and Sam Kanter sealed the win. Catford boss Jeff Gotch remarked: “It was a shambles. When you win, you have 25 players available. When you lose, you have eight and need to find new players. It was goal-less for 60 minutes but in truth Bayern were more effective.”

FC TEAM 11 FAITHFOLD B 0

MITCH YOUNG commended his players for retaining their focus as FC Team boosted their promotion bid with a big win over basement battlers Faithfold. Adam Rones and Young fired hat-tricks, with Danny Moss (2), Richard Salmon, Ryan Kangisser and Mike Patterson completing the scoring. “It was a pleasing performance,” enthused Young. “Sometimes in these high-scoring games you can lose energy and focus, but I though we applied ourselves well.”

TEMPLE FORTUNE B 0 HERTSWOOD VALE 10

JOSH COHEN (4) and James Millet (3) were the star performers as Vale climbed into fifth spot following their biggest victory since joining the MGBSFL. Elio Elia (2) and Josh Gorb sealed the win. Vale joint-manager Jacob Emanuel commented: “This result says a lot about how far the club has come. It is just reward for the level of work and effort Danny Hirschberger, Viv Emanuel, Jack Shulman and myself have put into the club since we started up at the beginning of last season. We’ll certainly enjoy a l’chaim or two tonight.”

MILL HILL DONS 5 NL RAIDERS C 2

BRANDON HAMME believes a lack of match sharpness prevented his team from a more emphatic win as Mill Hill Dons returned to winning ways. Harry Moss (2), Adam Kramer, Jamie Nagioff and a 30-yard thunderbolt from Josh Cinna inspired the Dons to their 12th league win. “It was a great performance from the boys, especially in the first half,” commented Hamme. “We lacked a bit of sharpness towards the end but that’s understandable due to our lack of games.”
