Knicks keen on winner Blatt
BASKETBALL NBA team New York Knicks will interview David Blatt for the head coach vacancy after the Israeli won the EuroCup with Darussafaka.
Blatt led the Turkish team to victory over Lokomotiv Kuban of Russia 67-59 to take a 2-0 lead in the threematch series final.
Blatt became the second coach to win all three European titles — the EuroLeague with Maccabi
Tel Aviv, EuroCup (equivalent of football’s Europa League) and EuroBasket and the Nations Cup with Russia. Born in Israel, Blatt coached the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA play-off final in 2015 but was sacked in 2016 following a disagreement with mega-star LeBron James. “The NBA is my goal, and if not, I’ll happily stay in Europe, hopefully to continue to do what I’m doing here,” said Blatt.
