Play Games
In 1975, the great graphic artist Abram Games (below) was commissioned to make a Centenary Appeal poster for the Royal Shakespeare Company. He came up with a brilliantly inventive design showing William Shakespeare’s face made from the titles of all of the Bard’s 37 plays. After Games’s death in 1996, his daughter Naomi discovered he had also made a flicker book in which the pages, when flicked, gradually reveal Shakespeare’s face. A version of this is being launched this week on the playwright’s birthday
