Second-half strikes from Marcus Shaffner and Nick Vale helped Leeds Maccabi make a winning start to the MJSL season with a 2-0 victory over Maccabi Manchester Masters. South Manchester Sports 2nd opened their account with a 2-0 win over Maccabi Manchester Yellow. Adam Tuck and an own goal sealed the win.

● Maccabi London Lions Vets hit double figures for the second week in a row, with a crushing 12-0 triumph over Abbey. Lee Cash led the way with a four-goal salvo, with strike partners Saul Conway and Mike Pearson scoring two apiece. Further goals from Tony Gold, Paul Lenchner, Daniel Stanton and Paul Hakim completed the rout.

● St John’s Wood Tigers lead the Maccabi Masters League on goal difference following a 2-1 win over Hendon Harriers. Jason Rich put Hendon ahead but strikes from John Perloff and an own goal earned the Tigers their second victory of the season. Ashley Davidson, Mark Wagman and Adam Gishen earned Brady Maccabi a 3-0 success over EHRS. Maccabi London Lions returned to winning ways, with Michael Abraham (3), Darren Dryer (2), Danny Schindler and Ory Halperin on target in the 7-1 demolition of Temple Fortune. Dean Ingram scored a consolatio­n for Fortune.

Kashket scored a last-minute winner in Wycombe’s 2-1 win over Fulham under-21s in the Checkatrad­e Trophy.
