Fairlop do it Ryan’s way

- BY DANNY CARO

Emergency goalkeeper Ryan Cole rescued Fairlop’s cup ambitions with two penalty saves in the shoot-out win over first division rivals Los Camden. The tie finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, with a wonder strike from Camden’s Louis Couque cancelled out in stoppage time by Fairlop’s James Jaconelli. Fairlop’s Jake Sanders said: “We were far from our best. In truth, we haven’t been good for a while, but that’s six consecutive victories, which is a good sign. Hayim commented: “Goalkeeper, Gideon Rabstein, was terrific today in his final game for us, commanding, confident and he made a string of great saves to keep us in it.”

Had it not been for a few individual errors, I don’t believe they would have scored, so we can be proud of the work that we put in.”
