‘Boycott leader’ in foul-mouthed rant on flight

- BY ROSA DOHERTY

AN ANTI-ISRAEL human rights lawyer has been filmed ranting at Air India staff and threatening the airline with a boycott over their refusal to give her a glass of wine.

Simone O’Broin, 50, was filmed claiming she was “leader of the f***ing boycott movement” as she waved her arms around in front of cabin staff and shouting: “If I say ‘boycott’ f***ing Air India, done”, during a flight to Heathrow from Mumbai.

She says: “Do you understand me? You can’t give me a wee bottle of wine? Give me a bottle of wine and game over.”

In a tirade captured by passenger and journalist Tarun Shukla, Ms O’Broin can be heard threatening to take the airline to court.

The video footage shows the Ms O’Broin shouting: “I’m a f***ing international criminal lawyer and a barrister.”

After screaming at the cabin crew, she turns her attention to her fellow business class passengers, and accuses them of not “standing up against injustice”.

Ms O’Broin told the cabin crew, “I work for all you people”, before referring to the Rohingya Muslim refugee crisis in Burma.

According to the Times, Ms O’Broin was born in Belfast, trained as a lawyer and worked in Palestine for several years.

She wrote a paper accusing Israel of genocide over its treatment of the Palestinians, who were “a group struggling for self-determination against a colonial, racist regime”.

Ms O’Broin, who is also known as Simone Burns, lives in Hove.

It is understood that at the time of her rant she had not slept for two nights following flight problems. When app-roached by the Daily Mail, she replied: “No comment.”

The Metropolitan Police confirmed a 50-year-old woman was arrested at Heathrow on November 10.

The woman was held on suspicion of racially aggravated public order, common assault and being drunk and disorderly. She was released under investigation. O’Broin shouts at Air India staff
