FOOTBALL Asher Martin, Josh Field and Eytan Millan were the scorers as Maccabi London Lions U18 division beat Abbots Youth 3-1 in the Watford Friendly League.

Zac Samuels (2), Max Frankel and Dylan Levene registered in MLL Blue’s 6-4 defeat against London Colney Colts Blue in the U14 division. There were mixed fortunes for HMH’s teams in the U14 division. Ben Weitzman (2), Asher Young and Zak Nyman eased the Juniors to a 4-2 victory over Harvesters South. Joseph Miller, Louis Kalisky and Jamie Michaelson were the marksmen as HMH All-Stars were defeated by U14 leaders Hadley Rangers. The teams meet again in the Spring Plate on Sunday. Eli Hubbuck (2), Zack Morris, Sami Hirshler (2) and Zac Gordon earned MLL Blue a 6-3 triumph over Edmonton Rangers Dragons in the U12 division. Theo Temple was the MoM for a fantastic all-round performanc­e.

FOOTBALL Maccabi London Lions moved to within three points of leaders Brady Maccabi following a 10-0 demolition of Glenthorne in the Maccabi Masters League. Max Radford (4) and Gideon Barnett (3) inspired the Lions to a double digit win. Michael Abraham, Darren Dryer and an own-goal completed the rout. Hendon Harriers earned a point against EHRS Stonegrove, despite being 2-0 down at the break. Marc Morris and Ian Leader had given EHRS a two-goal cushion at the interval, but Jason Rich pulled one back for Harriers, and a last-gasp equaliser from Paul Herszaft denied EHRS maximum points.

TENNIS Dudi Sela has returned to the top 200 in the ATP rankings, rising 28 places to 195 after reaching the final of the Launceston Internatio­nal Challenger in Bangkok. Sela was beaten in the final by Henri Laaksonen (121) of Switzerlan­d 6-2, 6-4. Sela, 33, returned to the tournament circuit last month after being sidelined for six months following a wrist surgery. His immediate target will be to continue playing in Challenger tournament­s and accumulate enough points to reach the top 105 rankings and qualify automatica­lly for the French Open and Wimbledon. In any event, he has said he will retire if he is unable to return to the top 100 this year.
