DIVISION ONE

MLFC RED 0 HERTSWOOD VALE 4

Two goals in the opening ten minutes helped Hertswood Vale claim one of their finest-ever results as they put MLFC Red to the sword at Rowley Lane, thanks to efforts from Jamie Steinberg, James Millet, his 14th strike of the season, Josh Gorb and an own goal.

MILL HILL DONS 1 NL RAIDERS 5

Liron Mannie, Max Warner and Aron Gale were among the scorers as North London Raiders recovered from a goal down to open a two-point lead at the top of the division. Harry Moss put the Dons ahead but Raiders’ recovery was completed by two own goals. NLR jointmanager Gideon Gale said: “The most pleasing thing about the game was that we didn’t allow the conditions to affect the way we wanted to play, with exceptional transitions from back to front.” Dons boss Brandon Hamme fears his team “will be dragged into the relegation battle if we don’t start picking up results soon”.

NL GALAXY 1 JEWDINESE 1

An injury-time goal from Reiss Mogilner earned Jewdinese a share of the spoils against joint-leaders Galaxy. James Belchak had put Galaxy ahead with a stunning free-kick. Jewdinese’s Darren Lawrence said: “I’m immensely proud of our second-half performance. We controlled the game and it would’ve been a very tough defeat to take had we not equalised. We showed great fight and determination to keep going until the end and we got our reward.” Galaxy chief Luke Lewis said: “We’re disappointed to have conceded from in reality Jewdinese’s only chance of the game and know that it’s important points dropped in the battle with Raiders for the league.”

SPEC FC 1 BROOK FARM ROVERS 1

Alon Pinhas earned Brook Farm Rovers a point following a hard-earned draw against SPEC FC. Zack Neiman had put SPEC ahead with his seventh goal of the season but the points were shared after the late drama. SPEC playermanager Ricky Lawrence said: “Rovers were impressive. They are a young and hungry team and fair play to them going straight into division one rather than starting in the bottom division.”

HMH manager Avi Goldberg praised his team’s ruthless finishing as they boosted their title hopes with a handsome victory over winless Fairlop. Oscar Wagner (2), Nate Kashket, Dan Hardoon and Dom Feldman completed the rout. Assistant-boss Jake Sanders said: “We competed for 75 or so minutes but our lack of fitness and a squad proved costly as HMH ran riot in the closing stages.”

Sapler said: “At times, it resembled a men against boys training session.” Faithfold player-manager Avi Markiewicz described the final scoreline as “a real shame”. He said: “We were in the game for the first 20 minutes but in the end Hendon outplayed us.”

OAKWOOD 2 CAMDEN PARK 1

Daniel Seligman and top-scorer Josh Cuby propelled Oakwood to third following a hard-fought win over Camden Park. The match was held up for almost an hour early on following an injury to Percelle Ascott, but Oakwood “refocused and got the job done, with two well-taken goals,” according to Director of Football Dan Kristall, who took charge of the team in the absence of manager Andrea Fraquelli.
