A taste for Stanmore

-

The Landsby retirement village, on Merrion Avenue, Stanmore, is preparing for its official opening, with the first owners set to move into their private apartments in the coming weeks. The 101 one- and twobedroom apartments, including ten penthouses, bring a fresh approach to the UK senior living sector.

The dining arrangements reflect this. Elysian Residences, developer and operator of the Landsby, has appointed Darren Kutty as executive chef at The Landsby. He has more than 20 years of experience in five-star hotels and is creating a diverse menu for the restaurant that will “reflect the local communities”.

After extensive customer research, Elysian Residences has incorporated more than 44 apartment designs into the development. Each apartment includes Miele and Siemens appliances, Hansgrohe and Duravit bathrooms and timber tongue-and-groove flooring. Among the amenities are a 24-hour concierge team managed by experienced head concierge John Restrepo, the restaurant, with private dining room, a coffee lounge and a bar.

Homeowners will also be able to use the Landsby’s library, as well as a gym on the sixth floor, where they can take part in aerobics, yoga and Pilates classes, while enjoying leafy views across Stanmore. Additional healthcare and support is available, which can be arranged on a flexible basis, if needed.

Elysian Residences chose Stanmore for its flagship development due to “the area’s sense of community, its urban location with a rural feel, alongside its connectivity into central London from Stanmore station”. The Landsby is also conveniently placed for the shops and restaurants of Stanmore high street.

Designed by Collado Collins, the Landsby’s architecture references the Art Deco style seen in the local area and features generously sized covered balconies and large windows.

Stanmore residents will have seen the building come to life and those who are interested in moving to The Landsby can now make an appointment to tour the finished product. A limited number of apartments can still be purchased, at prices from £490,000 for a one-bedroom, £720,000 for a twobedroom and £1,250,000 for a penthouse apartment, all providing private outdoor space.
