Deaths

BESSER. Sadie (née Freed). Devoted mother, mother-in-law, “granny”, aunt, sister-in-law, kindergart­en “auntie” to generation­s in Stamford Hill and friend to many others, passed away on Rosh Chodesh Av in her 99th year. Will be deeply missed by Andrew, Leah, Dov, Ilana and Libby.

GERRARD. Stanley. Died peacefully on Shabbat, July 25, 2020. Deeply loved and mourned by his wife Terry, his daughters Sandra and Marilyn, sons-in-law Graham and David, brother-in-law Eric, grandchild­ren Jessica and Abigail, Natasha, Raphaelle, Adam and Danny, family and friends. A kind, gentle man with humanity, integrity and compassion. Rememberin­g with love Beryl and Ian and those who are no longer with us.

GREENBURY. Val. Passed away on Friday, July 31. She will be hugely missed by her loving husband Stephen, her children Simon, Sally and Lucy and grandchild­ren Joshua, Benjamin, Freya, Anya, Thomas and Joseph.

HILTON. Dr Alan Hugh. My darling husband. Born in Dublin in 1930, passed away peacefully on July 29, just short of his 90th birthday. We had been together for 62 years but his loving spirit will be with me forever.— His devoted Babe.

HILTON. Dr Alan Hugh. Our beloved father, grandpa and great-grandpa. Loved more than words can say. We all adored him. He will live in our hearts forever.— Son Mordechai and Yocheved, daughter Lindsey and Luis, grandchild­ren Avigail, Ayala, Shira, Shua, Tehilla, Ruby, Maggie and Amy and all 13 greatgrand­children. May his precious soul rest in peace.

HILTON. Dr Alan. Rememberin­g Alan, a neighbour and a gentleman, the epitome of those two words. Sincere condolence­s to Gillian, Lindsey, Mordechai, and all the family.— From his fellow residents at Embassy Court.

HOLDER. Ruth (née Gilston). Passed away July 23, 2020 (Av 2 5780), aged 94. A fighter to the end, she was an inspiratio­nal, loyal and loving wife, mother and grandmothe­r. She will be so dearly missed by her sons Philip and Joseph, sister Sandra, daughters-in-law, grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

LABOVITCH. Kate. Passed away on July 26, 2020. Dearly loved and deeply missed by her son Marc, partner David and grandchild­ren Sophie and Harry. She will live in our hearts forever.

LEVISON. Martin. Husband, brother, father, grandfathe­r and greatgrand­father will be hugely missed by his wife Gwen and his loving family. A profession­al enthusiast who was kind and generous all his life; he will live on in our memories.

ORCHUDESCH. Hedy. A life well lived with dignity and humility. Great-grandma, grandma and mother. Hedy died peacefully after 99 years. Missed and remembered by Tony, Gillian, Samantha, Charles and Alfie, Daniella and Francesca.
