Redbridge crack the puzzle to beat Scrabble 3-1

Two goals from Sam Cormack helped Redbridge consolidat­e their mid-table placing in Division Two of the Maccabi GB Southern Football League, as they came away from Scrabble with a 3-1 win.

Jimmy Castle was also on target for the east Londoners, for whom manager David Castle said: “It was a really good victory considerin­g the small squad we had due to injuries, illness and work commitment­s. We showed great character to come back from being 1-0 down at halftime and fully deserved the win.”

Stoke Salmon remain three points clear at the top of the table after Nick Barnett and Harry Goldsmith scored in a 2-1 win over Straw Hat Pirates,

Their nearest challenger­s, NWL Azzuri, beat FC East London Bees 5-0. Ollie Miracco helped himself to a hat-trick, with Ben Rosen and Ben Feldman also on target.

West Hendon wallabies got the better of Hampstead Ducks over their two games, winning the second game 3-0 after the first ended in a 1-1 draw.

Maccabi London Lions maintained their three-point lead at the top of the Premier Division table as they recorded a comfortabl­e 5-1 victory at Faithfold White. Player-manager Max Kyte, Charlie Dryer, Charlie Kasler, Rafi Rees and Adam Arnold all getting on the scoresheet.

HMH stay in second following their impressive 4-2 win at Hendon. Oscar Wagner scored twice, with Jake Norton and Adam Abadi also on target. Manager Avi Goldberg said: “We turned in a superb second half performanc­e, overcoming a 2-1 half-time deficit to keep the pressure up on Lions.”

Oakwood got the better of Fairlop over their double-header encounter, claiming 3-2 and 4-0 victories. Jewdinese claimed just their third league win of the season, Reiss Mogilner, Billy Lee and Ollie Shields scoring in their 3-1 win over bottom side North London Galaxy.

Chigwell maintained their twopoint lead at the top of the Division One table as two goals from Stanley Offord — including a 93rd minute winner — saw then defeat Mill Hill Dons 2-1. Chigwell’s Josh Dobias said: “It wasn’t the best performanc­e we’ve put in this season, but the result is all that matters and credit to the boys who dug deep to get the win late on.”

Hertswood Vale leapfrogge­d Borussia Barnet in the table, thanks to a 2-1 win, while the highest scorers of the day were FC Team, who put nine goals past Paris Saint Jewmain. Jonny Haik and Dan Cohen helped themselves to hat-tricks, Richard Salmon scored twice, with player-manager Mitch Young completing the rout.

Brook Farm Rovers claimed two much-needed wins against Temple Fortune. Josh Silverman, Joe Gourgey and Adam Ellis scoring in a 3-2 win in the first game, before Gourgey, Dan Cohen and Sam Georgevic were on target in a 3-1 victory in the second.
