BEING CREATIVE has enabled people to stay connected and positive through the challenges over the pandemic. Artistic talent from across the learning disability community is being recognised this year for Learning Disabilities Week.

“The theme of this year’s Learning Disabilities week is art and creativity — Kisharon has always put these at the forefront of connectivity,” says Hadassa Kessler, Kisharon operations director. “A significant aspect of the awareness week is to recognise that a very positive contribution to society can be given by all and we’ve come a long way in moving past the stigma around disability so let’s keep going in the right direction — to acknowledge the journey.”

Kisharon believes in providing exciting, creative and meaningful learning experiences to enable children and adults to live independently in Jewish communities and lead fulfilling lives. From nursery to school, independent living accommodation and employment opportunities, Kisharon plays an essential role in the Jewish community.

Kisharon’s ability to deliver frontline social care services is more important than ever — especially with the recent news about social care funding. Kisharon has a fantastic selection of ‘challenge’ fundraising events planned. You can also come up with your own to help make a difference and Kisharon will support you all the way. Be part of something very special and help raise vital funds.

Challenges are a great opportunity to get outside, get fit and spend time with friends and family. Places are still available for participants in the London Bridge Tour, a fun, family-friendly walking event on Sunday, July 4. The event will take in ten of London’s iconic bridges between Vauxhall Bridge and Tower Bridge. You will encounter many of London’s landmarks and enjoy superb views of the London skyline.

Kisharon will also be holding a Golf Day on July 8 and is looking forward to the Maccabi Fun Run, where donors can walk or run alongside people from the Kisharon community.
