Enterprise partnership brings Immanuel into the den of Dragon

IMMANUEL COLLEGE is entering the Dragons’ Den by becoming the first faith school to launch a Peter Jones Enterprise Academy.

Pupils will have the chance to run their own businesses, learn entrepreneurial skills and develop financial literacy.

Through the partnership between the college and the Peter Jones Foundation, they will be able to work towards internationally recognised qualifications in business, enterprise and entrepreneurship.

For his part, Peter Jones, star of the BBC’s Dragons’ Den s h o w, said he was “absolutely delighted to announce this opportunity for Immanuel College.

He had “started the foundation with a clear goal — to improve young people’s life outcomes through good enterprise education.

“It is more important than ever to empower the next generation of business leaders, wealth-generators and change-makers with the skills to succeed in the world of work,” Mr Jones maintained.

Sharon Shackell, the sixth-form director of the Bushey-based college, said that Immanuel was “extremely excited to be able to offer the young people of our community the opportunity tojoin the

Peter Jones Enterprise Academy.”

Ms Shackell believed that its students would “benefit from small class sizes in a structured, nurturing environment with all the benefits of being part of a Jewish sixth-form community.

“This diverse and hands-on course, which gives young people the experience, skills and knowledge needed to build long, successful careers, will be a fantastic addition to our curriculum.”
