Real’s Galacticos hit Hampstead for six

-

REAL MADREIDEL maintained their 100 per cent winning start to the season as they put six goals past Hapoel Hampstead in their Maccabi GB Southern Football League Division Two clash.

Jake Salem, Zac Summerfield, Sam Keene, Ben Lazarus and Daniel Rinkoff were all on the scoresheet in a 6-2 win.

But Real still trail leaders Geez Park Rangers by three points after they were emphatic 7-1 winners at Redbridge Jewish Care White. Mikey Perkins and Jordan Grundman scored two each, with Josh Shack, Josh Spivack and Josh Racke also on target. Manager Ben Leslie said: “It was another really good performance from the boys, especially in the second half. I couldn’t be prouder of the lads.” London Athletico lost ground on the top two as they were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Boca Chillers. Michael Phillips and George Saffer scored for Athletico, and the former said afterwards: “It was a physical game and we should have taken more chances.” Leo Fisher and James Belchak scored for Chillers.

Qarabagel moved off the bottom of the table as goals from Jack Ottman and Josh Cohen saw them to a 2-1 win over Millbrook Park Calcio. Manager David May said: “We’ve achieved our pre-season goal of winning over one game in the league!”

Oakwood Town and Brady Football Club drew 1-1, Tal Feingold and Eytan Copitch scoring for their respective sides.

The only game in the Premier Division saw HMH and Oakwood play out a 1-1 draw. Oscar Wagner’s strike earned HMH a point —moving them up into third place — leaving manager Avi Goldberg to say afterwards: “It was a cagey, tactical battle in the first half, but then turned into an end-to-end encounter after the break.”

Stoke Salmon made it six wins from six — and opened up a five-point lead at the top of the Division One table — as they thrashed Straw Hat Pirates 9-2.

Despite falling behind, Salmon went on to complete a rout. Alex Bleetman and Nick Barnett scored two each, while James Barnett, Scott Gurvitz, Ben Ingram, Jamie Smaje and Nathan Schindler were also on target.

Salmon’s Jonny Halmer said: “It was a terrific performance showing great character to come from behind to get the victory.”

Borussia Jewdinese, who went into the game as Salmon’s closest challengers, were beaten 4-2 at home by NWL Azzuri, for whom Aron Gale and Sam Morris scored two goals each. Redbridge Jewish Care Purple are up into third spot following a 5-2 win at Scrabble. Scott Oldstein and Ben Oldstein scored two each, with Matt Niman netting their fifth. Manager David Castle said: “Once we started to relax and knock it about, the goals came.”

Brook Farm Rovers and Hampstead Ducks played out a thrilling six-goal classic but had to settle for a point apiece in a 3-3 draw. Ariel Rahamim scored a hat-trick for the Ducks, but they let a two-goal lead slip as Dan Cohen’s double and Joe Gourgey’s strike helped Rovers to their point.

Zack Cohen’s 88th minute winner, coupled with Joseph Reece’s strike saw Mill Hill Dons to an impressive 2-1 win at FC East London Bees.

Maccabi London Brady up to third place in the Maccabi Masters Football League following an 8-2 thrashing of Marshside. Scott Ansher scored half the goals, Jonny Summerfield chipped in with two, with David Rose and Gavin Sherman completing the scoring.

St John’s Wood Tigers also scored eight goals — at the expense of EHRS Stonegrove. Stonegrove took the lead through Stefan Simons, but it was all downhill after that. Andrew Brummer scored four times, Paul Herszaft bagged a hat-trick, with Jason Bentley the other scorer.

The one game in the Manchester Jewish Soccer League saw Broughton Park Rangers and Maccabi Manchester 3rd play out a 2-2 draw, leaving both sides still in search of their first league win of the season. Bobby Waxman and Sol Moore scored for the hosts, with Sol Mattatia and Daniel Delew replying for Manchester.

The Maccabi GB Junior Football League welcomed their two newest teams to the League on Sunday as the season continued with another full schedule, comprising of 13 fixtures played across their two venues and four age groups.

It was another really good performance. I couldn’t be prouder...
