Polished Oakwood brush Maccabi aside

-

VOAKWOOD CONTINUED their impressive recent run of form with the reigning Maccabi GB Southern Football League Premier Division champions coming away from Maccabi London FC with a 3-0 win.

Charlie Kasler, Daniel King and Samuel Sutton scored for the Os, with manager Lewis Blitz saying: “The squad was tested to the max, but it was a big three points!”

Lions manager Laurence Judah said: “The first half, played in terrible conditions, was a hard-fought half with both teams cancelling each other out. They scored from a corner early in the second half and then controlled the game, their fitness and desire was far too much for us to match.”

Hendon United Sports Club opened up a six-point gap at the top of the table as two goals from Akiva Soloman, coupled with strikes from Rocky Spitzer and Moses Seitler, saw them win 4-1 at Club de Chigwell. Manager David Garbacz said: “We came up against a well-organised side and did really well to come away with the three points.”

Stoke Salmon extended their lead at the top of the Division One table to six points as two goals from Nathan Schindler helped them to a 5-0 win at Mill Hill Dons. Louie Greenham, Harry Goldsmith and Alex Bleetman were also all on target. Salmon’s Jamie Weiner said: “It was another dominant display from the boys in tough opening conditions. An important three points to keep our 100 per cent winning streak alive and increase our gap at the top of the table.”

Borussia Jewdinese are up into second spot after they also hit five goals — coming away from FC East London Bees with an impressive 5-0 win.

Zachary Collins scored a hat-trick, with Reiss Mogilner claiming the other two.

Simon Fox’s strike proved to be the difference as Hampstead Ducks were 1-0 victors over Redbridge Jewish Care Purple, the win taking them up into fourth.

Two goals from Adam Ellis helped Brook Farm Rovers to just their second league win of the season, as they ran out 5-2 winners over NWL Azzuri. Ben Levene, Dan Cohen and Greg Vituli were also on target. Manager Dan Cohen said: “It was a fantastic team performance and a well-deserved three points. We scored some great goals, defended solidly throughout and, but for some wonder saves from their goalkeeper, could have scored a few more. A much-needed win to hopefully kick-start a good run for us.”

Biggest scorers of the day were Temple Fortune A, who hit Straw Hat Pirates for six in a 6-2 win.

Michael Goldberg scored twice, with Jimi Rose, Dan Vandermolen, Alex Gray and Grant Bates all finding the back of the net.

London Athletico moved to with five points of the leaders in Division Two thanks to a 4-2 win at Hapoel Hampstead. Moshe Shamash, George

Saffer, Saul Fenton and Callum Burke all getting on the scoresheet. Manager Michael Phillips said: “It was a great performance despite the shambolic weather – a complete mud bath. But we scored four great goals in what was a solid performance.” Biggest movers of the day were Qarabagel, who jumped up to fourth spot as a result of their thrilling 4-3 win over Redbridge Jewish Care White. Rafi Galkoff, Ollie Reback, Charlie Kahn and Josh Cohen all scored for the newly formed club, who claimed back-to-back victories for the first time in their history, with Sam Cormack’s hat-trick for Redbridge proving to be in vain.

Boca Chillers vs Real Madreidel, Brady Football Club vs Geez Park Rangers and Millbrook Park Calcio vs Temple Fortune B were all postponed due to a waterlogged pitches.
