BOTMAN JOINS THE ADIDAS ATHLETE CREW

-

ADIDAS have launched a fresh partnership with Newcastle United, snapping up Sven Botman as the latest athlete to join their range of talent.

The Dutch centre-back put pen to paper on a deal with the German sportswear giant, flanked by his agent Nikkie Bruinenberg at the company’s German HQ.

Botman joins the likes of Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane, who all have an association with Adidas.

The corporation has had plenty practice working with Newcastle stars in recent weeks, after Anthony Gordon, Lewis Miley, Alexander Isak and Joelinton starred in an advert showcasing the new Adidas ‘Predator 24’. Miley, Gordon and Sean Longstaff were all donning the new footwear in Saturday’s 4-4 draw with Luton Town at St James’ Park.

Adidas will take over the Magpies’ official kit manufacturer from the 2024/25 season onwards, with fans braced to see what the company has in store for Newcastle’s home, away, training and retro gear.

The sportswear giant also unveiled a brand new partnership with Newcastle’s shirt sponsor Sela last week, focusing ‘on strategic collaborations and joint developments’.

Bilal Fares, general manager of Adidas, said: “This partnership is a testament to the shared values and vision of Sela and adidas.”

Speculation has been rife that Newcastle will become an Adidas ‘elite’ team along with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United, Arsenal and Flamengo.

This means the club will receive authentic home and away kits each season, as well as fresh designs rather than templates that are used by multiple teams.
