A series of in-house promotions has strengthen­ed the management team at regional workspace provider HyHubs.

HyHubs is a collection of business centres that includes Hoults Yard in Byker, Haylofts in Haymarket, central Newcastle, and Hypoint in Saltmeadow­s Road, Gateshead.

Former HyHubs manager Laura Goldston has been appointed general manager. Lucy Davenport is the company’s new centre manager. Dulcie Hakin, who has been with HyHubs for just over a year, has been given more responsibi­lities as finance manager. Louise White has been confirmed in the full-time role of marketing manager. Cleaning supervisor Yolandi Mario is leading a new inhouse team working across the company’s three sites.

HyHubs MD Charlie Hoult said: “Succession planning and developing our talent is hugely important to us, and it’s testament to the hard work and commitment of five of our shining stars that we’ve been able to strengthen our team with these promotions.”

Ryecroft Glenton has strengthen­ed its senior team and its tax advisory practice with the appointmen­t of new tax partner Emma Reilly.

With over 17 years with Big Four accountanc­y practices, Ms Reilly brings extensive experience of working closely with businesses and high net worth individual­s. She works with a wide range of businesses and high net worth individual­s and their families, providing strategic advice on all aspects of tax planning including structurin­g family wealth, succession and planning for an exit as well as leading on specialist technical areas such as Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) advice.

She said: “RG is a very forwardloo­king firm with a great heritage and I’m excited to be joining a highly respected independen­t advisory practice.”

Simon Whiteside, business tax partner at RG, added: “I am delighted Emma is joining RG as our new partner. She brings extensive experience to bolster our strategy to provide holistic and proactive tax advice.”

Mediaworks has appointed Jack Minot as its new organic search director.

Mr Minot, who has held roles with the likes of Honcho, Sticky Eyes and Unrvld (formerly Delete), has relocated to the North East to take up his new role at the Gateshead-based digital marketing agency.

He said: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining such a dynamic and creative digital agency. I cannot wait to help Mediaworks shape and achieve its future growth ambitions in organic search.”

Brett Jacobson, founder and group CEO at Mediaworks, added: “We’re thrilled to secure someone like Jack, who has such a massive passion and knowledge of his craft in SEO and search. It’s a rapidly changing environmen­t and Jack slots perfectly into our operation that thrives on staying ahead of the curve.”

Newcastle brand and communicat­ions agency Cool Blue has welcomed four new arrivals on the back of new business wins.

The agency, which celebrates its 25th anniversar­y this year, has appointed public relations profession­al Taimar Askew as account director to spearhead Cool Blue’s presence in the North East. Ryan Brkovic-Davis joins as lead creative, bringing design knowledge for digital and print.

Its central London office has welcomed Katie Wilson as associate director, to lead operations in the south. Also joining the team in London is Emma Wright as senior account manager to support developmen­t in the interiors and lifestyle division.

Victoria McCartney, director of brand strategy at Cool Blue, said: “As we continue to celebrate our success and growth, we’re eager to work together as a team to keep pushing the boundaries of creativity in the North East and London.”

HS Conveyanci­ng, the residentia­l conveyanci­ng specialist launched by North East-based law firm Savage Silk, has promoted Ruth Beeton to director.

Ms Beeton, who was been with the business for five years, will oversee the continued growth of HS Conveyanci­ng, which is expanding its presence across the UK. The business focuses on a bespoke, personal service, utilising state-of-the-art technology that has been developed in house to support its clients’ transactio­ns.

She said: “I’ve really enjoyed the challenge of putting my stamp on the business over the last five years. It’s not been an easy time to be a conveyance­r with Covid and then Stamp Duty Land Tax. However, this gave us the impetus to drive the radical change that is required; not only our business, but the conveyanci­ng profession generally, so that we can meet the challenges that the profession is going to face in the coming years with Material Informatio­n and AI.”

Simon Priestley, director at HS Conveyanci­ng, said: “We have seen the business grow, but more importantl­y Ruth has lead the charge on building the business so that it is tech-led and incorporat­es a full digital process, which allows us to take the business national.”

North East company Horizon Works has appointed Peter Willis as senior creative designer.

Mr Willis, who has nearly 30 years of experience in the design industry, will be spearheadi­ng brand developmen­t for Horizon Works’ clients and delivering creative work across digital and print.

He has worked for a number of major North East England-based design and creative agencies during his career, delivering creative projects for both B2B and B2C clients.

Mr Willis also contribute­s illustrati­ons to children’s books in North America, and is known for his creative work in the sport and charity sectors. This has included working alongside The Athletic correspond­ent and renowned football journalist George Caulkin on a fanzine for The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

He said: “I am really looking forward to working with the excellent team here developing new brands for clients and supporting my colleagues in the delivery of exciting creative projects.”
