Artist and entrepreneur Marie Guerlain on crests, cashmere and candle-lit relaxation rituals
I make smoothies for my family with lots of vegetables and a bit of fruit, so the children [aged three, nine and ten] get their greens. I am passionate about cooking and nutrition – last year I qualified as a nutrition health coach.
I have a huge collection of scented candles. Baobab’s are my current favourite. They smell and look glamorous. This one has a beautiful textured pot. Lighting candles is part of my evening relaxation ritual, along with my bath and meditation.

This crest, which features on my cookware collection, was based on a design my mother created for me when I was a little girl. [Marie’s family founded the Guerlain cosmetics dynasty.] It’s made up of my initials, MG. Ondine is my middle name.
This cashmere Bamford hot water bottle was a present from my husband when I was pregnant with our youngest son. I store a lot of stress in my stomach and often use it to relax.

I carry my business planner with me whenever I can. It was a gift from a friend when I began Ondine. It’s fun to use and helps me collect all my ideas. I have to write everything down, otherwise I forget.
