New-look NetDoctor will see you now

-

ONE of Britain’s most trusted health websites has undergone a glossy revamp, offering up-tothe-minute news, analysis and wellbeing advice.

The new-look NetDoctor includes guidance from leading medical names, from celebrity skin specialist Dr Nick Lowe and star fertility guru Zita West to Embarrassing Bodies host Dr Dawn Harper and The Mail on Sunday’s own Dr Ellie Cannon. The site has a raft of new interactive features including the Health Checker Tool, which provides a quick, informal health assessment based on information provided about an individual’s lifestyle, family and medical history.

Editor Taylor Anderson says: ‘NetDoctor is about a journey from illness to optimum health. We’re here to provide accurate and research-based information that will help our readers keep themselves and their family well.

‘The internet is jammed with bloggers who may know how to make a great-looking kale smoothie, but can’t give proper medical advice. We do both.

‘And we want people to know they can trust our experts, who are qualified doctors, just as much as they do their own GP.’

Launched in 2000, NetDoctor was one of the first websites to bring evidence-based health information into the family home.

On the site this week, Dr Harper investigates the risks and benefits of hormone-replacement therapy, and there is a new section with recipes and useful features, such as what makes a ‘healthy’ portion of various foods, from spaghetti to cereal.
