Scholes: Pogba not worth it, as £110m deal nears
MANCHESTER UNITED will look to finalise a world record £110million transfer of Paul Pogba from Juventus this week.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has flown to Miami to meet his client and discuss the finer details of the deal. Juve yesterday agreed to pay Napoli £78m for striker Gonzalo Higuain and there is a general acceptance from the Italians that, if United agree to pay the 20 per cent bonus due to Raiola and Pogba — an additional £18.4m — they will allow the 23-year-old to return to Old Trafford.
But ex-United favourite Paul Scholes told Sport Witness: ‘For that sort of money, you want someone who is going to score 50 goals a season like Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.’
