So who will make the decision?

THE IOC executive board will meet today to discuss whether Russia will take part or not in next month’s Olympics.

THERE are 15 members of the board which is headed by German president Thomas Bach, a former Olympic fencing gold medallist. Among the four vicepresid­ents are Craig Reedie from Scotland, who is also head of the World Anti-Doping Agency, and Moroccan Nawal El Moutawakel, who won the inaugural women’s 400m hurdle event at a summer Olympics in 1984.

ACCORDING to reports in Russia, their Olympic committee chief, Alexander Zhukov, who is not on the board, has also been invited to take part in the session.
