Broadhurst hunts Jimenez in Seniors Open
PAUL BROADHURST ignited the British challenge on day three of the Senior Open Championship at Carnoustie, though Miguel Angel Jimenez goes into the final day with a four-shot lead.
Broadhurst, who joined the senior ranks last year after claiming six European Tour victories, added a four-under par round of 68 to Friday’s 66 to move to seven under, alongside Americans Joe Durant, Wes Short and Tom Byrum.
But it is 52-year-old Jimenez who leads the way in his fifth senior major.
The Spaniard (right), who finished in 18th at Troon last Sunday in the Open Championship, reeled off seven birdies and no dropped shots in a sublime round of 65 yesterday.
