Smith’s Wolves warning
WARRINGTON boss Tony Smith insists his side need to improve despite leapfrogging Wigan to finish second in the Super League regular season after a last-gasp 34-30 win over Huddersfield.
The Giants led 30-28 until Wolves centre Toby King created a winning try for Daryl Clark near the end.
The result saw Warrington finish runners-up to Hull but Smith is demanding more from his players ahead of next Saturday’s Challenge Cup semi-final against Wakefield.
He said: ‘There were some brilliant passages of play but we invited Huddersfield into the game when we seemed to have taken control.’
New Huddersfield signing Gene Ormsby bagged a hat-trick against his old club.
