Our champion rowers? They’re gown and outs!

-

THEY look like they’re on their way to a toga party – but these are Britain’s triumphant Olympic rowers wearing their dressing gowns as they cheer on their fellow Team GB members.

They donned their white towelling robes on Friday night as the British women’s hockey team beat the Dutch on penalties to take gold.

Elsewhere, the ‘gown gang’ have cheered on Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, who won gold and silver in the triathlon, and also taken their costumes to the wrestling.

The group of Olympians, including coxless four gold medallist Moe Sbihi and scullers Jonny Walton and Peter Lambert, have attended a range of events in their robes.

The group, rounded off by rowers Nathan Reilly-O’Donnell and Alan Sinclair, even roped in diver Tonia Couch for a picture with the Olympic rings in Rio.

The fivesome chronicled their Rio experience on Twitter using the hashtag #gownday.
