THE original Ford Ka city car won a loyal following for its quirky looks and affordability. This new Ka+ arrives in the UK in October (you can order one now) and it’s still affordable, starting from £8,995. But it has grown: it has five doors and is just shy of Ford’s standard Fiesta hatchback in size – but a basic five-door Fiesta will cost you £3,700 more. Why the difference in price? The Ka+ is simpler, and is made in India. You don’t get air-conditioning on the entry model, but you do get Bluetooth, a dock that lets you use a smartphone for satnav, and six airbags.
