Despots will plunder £200m Africa aid
I note that the Government is to send £200million to South Sudan and Somalia to ease the effects of drought and poverty. Having lived and worked throughout Africa for the past 35 years, I can assure you that very little of it will reach the intended recipients due to catastrophic levels of corruption.
The money will be siphoned off into bank accounts in Vanuatu, Lichtenstein and the Cayman Islands, and the drought and pestilence will continue unabated. The Government is, once again, going down the road of salving a few consciences but accomplishing little. Edward Mitchell, chell, Bridgwater, Somerset erset
