‘It’s cheaper and less harmful’

-

ISABELLA LAFFERTY, 38, an accountant from London, spent £50,000 on four cycles of fertility treatments before falling pregnant with her son Charles, right, using natural IVF.

She said: ‘Natural IVF was my only option and was also significantly cheaper than a normal cycle. It was also far quicker, which was reassuring.

‘I’ve already told other women to do it, because anyone can, and they’ve all been successful. Why wouldn’t you do something that was cheaper and less harmful?’

However, Jessica Hepburn, 46 and also from London, tried natural IVF alongside ten cycles of normal IVF. Nothing worked.

Jessica, who now runs a fertility festival, said: ‘Infighting in the industry isn’t helpful. Rather than saying natural IVF isn’t successful, they should be saying two-thirds of standard IVF isn’t successful – I’d rather hear what we can do about that.’
