THE Serious Fraud Office has issued an appeal for information about two suspected fraudsters who are wanted for questioning as part of its investigation into Solar Energy Savings Limited.

The company, which was wound up in 2012, marketed solar panels with the promise of a 100 per cent cashback.

Homeowners who paid for the panels are said to have lost more than £13 million.

Company directors David Diaz, who also calls himself David Black and David Stark, and Ludovic Black, who also uses the name Victor Black, were due to attend Blacon and Runcorn police stations in Cheshire for questioning, but failed to appear.

Diaz, once a professional footballer with Scottish team Motherwell, is already on my files for his role in art investment firm Ashley Jenkins Limited. I warned that though it used a smart address in London’s West End, it was really based in Spain and its promise of a fixed return of 10.4 per cent made it an unlawful investment scheme.

The company was closed down by the High Court, with investors losing £5.6 million.
