They’ve won the title... now to get even better

-

CHELSEA may have won the Premier League with something to spare this season, but manager Antonio Conte will not sit on his laurels. Here SIMON JONES reports on SIX potential signings the Italian could make this summer.

ROMELU LUKAKU

(Everton) Everton want £100million for the free-scoring Lukaku, which will drag out negotiations. Chelsea face fierce competition from Manchester United for the Belgium international.

ALVARO MORATA

(Real Madrid) Antonio Conte is a big fan of Morata, as is Jose Mourinho. He is quick and good in the air. Madrid want Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois but Chelsea will avoid talk of swaps.

ALEXIS SANCHEZ

(Arsenal) Chelsea want Sanchez but Arsenal don’t want to sell to a Premier League rival. Should he go, Bayern Munich are considered favourites. Chelsea have also sounded out Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.

VIRGIL VAN DIJK

(Southampton) Chelsea have considered Roma’s Antonio Rudiger and Kalidou Koulibaly at Napoli but as long as van Dijk returns to fitness quickly he remains their priority for centre-back, albeit for around £50million.

RIYAD MAHREZ

(Leicester) The exciting winger has been discussed by Arsenal, Tottenham, Real Madrid and Paris St Germain. Chelsea have also considered Federico Bernadeschi at Fiorentina and Dries Mertens of Napoli.
