A MYSTERIOUS business card left in a forest lodge could hold a vital clue to the disappearance of lawyer Renata Antczak.

Police are investigating rumours that the Polish-born mother-of-two – who has been missing from her Hull home for almost a month – had an affair with a man named Przemek before she vanished.

Renata’s 84-year-old mother, Stanislawa, revealed that she found a card bearing that name in the Polish hideaway owned by the family nine days ago. Yet when she returned last Wednesday, it had disappeared.

‘Someone had been inside between my visits, I am sure,’ she said in an exclusive interview with The Mail on Sunday. ‘But only Renata and I have a key.’

She added that biscuits and bottles of water had also been left lying around, adding: ‘Renata would never have left these things out.’

On Thursday, Stanislawa was quizzed by detectives over her daughter’s rumoured affair – and the following day two men, aged 47 and 45, were arrested in Hull.

Police say they were acting on so far undisclosed ‘new information’.

Renata, 49, has not been seen since she left the home in the city she shared with dentist husband Majid Mustafa on April 25. Dr Mustafa claims his wife joined a ‘ cult’ in Poland after dropping their youngest daughter Victoria, 11, at school.

Speaking from her home in Lodz, Poland, Stanislawa told how she spotted the clue when she visited the lodge to see if her daughter had fled to the hideaway she regularly uses when visiting relatives.

‘I noticed a card, like a business card, lying on the desk in the office,’ she said. ‘It had the name Przemek on it. Renata never mentioned him, although she has spoken of seeking a divorce.

‘When I went to the house to check again last Wednesday the card had gone. The two chairs right behind the desk had also been moved.

‘Then on Thursday the police called at my home asking if Renata had ever spoken of a man called Przemek. They asked if I knew whether she’d had an affair with him.’

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said officers could not comment on whether Przemek was linked to their investigation. ‘This is a very complex inquiry,’ she said.

Police also say an ‘unconfirmed sighting’ of Renata in Poland is not a major line of inquiry.

Syrian-born Mr Mustafa met Renata after emigrating to Poland 27 years ago. The couple married four years later in her home town of Konstantynow Lodzki, five miles west of Lodz. Twelve years ago they moved to the UK with eldest daughter Magda, now a 23-year-old student.

Renata worked as a para- legal adviser for a Hull solicitors’ but last year became a therapist for TimeWaver, an alternative treatment which involves attaching electrodes to patients to monitor their ‘energy’.

Mr Mustafa claims his wife has been brainwashed.

Renata’s sister, Danuta Szulc, told The Mail on Sunday :‘ It’ s like the ground has opened up and swallowed her.’
