Agnew’s Boro future up in air
STEVE AGNEW accepts sweeping changes are expected at Middlesbrough following relegation to the Championship and he has no idea if he has a future at the Riverside.
Agnew, caretaker boss since Aitor Karanka was sacked in March, has won just one of his 10 matches and takes his team to Liverpool today.
Owner Steve Gibson has said he will appoint a new manager in the coming weeks and Agnew (left) hopes he has not blotted his copybook. He said: ‘The thing we all have to do is take responsibility for what has happened this season, so I think to not change anything would be madness.’
Outgoing Watford boss Walter Mazzarri believes progress has been made during his one season in charge.
‘Many youngsters have made their debuts in the Premier League and we leave them as the future of Watford,’ he said. ‘The future is bright.’
