Derbyshire on Leeds’ radar
LEEDS UNITED’S new manager Thomas Christiansen could rival Panathinaikos for the signature of former England Under 21 striker Matt Derbyshire.
Christiansen wanted the 31-year-old Omonia Nicosia striker at previous club Apoel but the deal proved too difficult given the rivalry between the biggest two teams in Cyprus.
Derbyshire, who has played for Blackburn, Birmingham and Rotherham, won the Golden Boot in last season’s Cypriot League with 25 goals and Greek club Panathinaikos have also expressed an interest in the forward.
