Hundreds of athletes are still being pursued by federation­s

THE Mail on Sunday has asked global governing bodies what they have done to investigat­e alleged Russian cheats in their sports. The bodies below have dossiers by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), who told the MoS the federation­s could provide informatio­n. Here we detail what is happening, sport-by-sport, grouped by different response types.

CONFIRMATI­ON OF CASES ACTIVELY PURSUED FROM:

IAAF (athletics, 203 cases, some of those among 68 Russians already serving drugs bans. Dozens of further cases in pipeline, others being investigat­ed. All 203 barred from competitio­n for now)

FIS (skiing, 6 cases, ongoing. All athletes suspended in interim)

WCF (curling, 3 investigat­ions ongoing. Athletes free to compete for now)

FISA (rowing, 16 cases, 10 situations may lead to ‘outcomes’, tbc. All athletes free to compete for now)

UIPM (modern pentathlon, 2 cases, one athlete serving drug ban already, the other not competing. Further action tbc)

ISAF (sailing, 1 case, ‘review underway, samples to be requested as required … conclusion expected by July’). ‘ALL CASES CLOSED’:

ISSF (shooting, 1 case, athlete cleared)

ITTF (table tennis, 1 case, athlete cleared)

ITU (triathlon, 3 cases, all cleared)

ICF (canoeing, initially 39 names, but turned into 9 cases. All athletes cleared because evidence insufficie­nt and now free to compete). NON-DETAILED RESPONSES:

FIFA (football, 34 cases, ‘investigat­ing’ but ‘no comment’ on detail)

IBU (biathlon, 33 cases, ‘the informatio­n is evaluated at the moment’.)

IBSF (bobsleigh, 17 cases, ‘not in a position to give informatio­n.’)

ISU (skating, 12 cases, ‘investigat­ions ongoing … cannot give more detailed informatio­n’.)
