WIGAN lost their 100 per cent record as both sides finished with 10 men as Chey Dunkley and Portsmouth’s Gareth Evans were sent off in separate incidents. Ivan Toney had given the home side an early lead, but Conor Chaplin nodded home Kal Naismith’s fine cross to earn Portsmouth a point.

NORTH’MPTON 1 PETERBORO 4

PETERBOROU­GH went top as goals from Gwion Edwards, Junior Morais, Jack Marriott and Marcus Maddison gave them a convincing away win. Alex Revell pulled one back.

WIMBLEDON 2 DONCASTER 0

WIMBLEDON manager Neal Ardley admitted a few choice words at half-time did the trick. ‘Some people were kicked up the backside,’ he said. Kwesi Appiah and Andy Barcham got the goals in two second-half minutes.

WALSALL 3 BRADFORD 3

WALSALL produced a stunning fightback to come from three down. Luke Leahy atoned for his own-goal and the comeback was completed by Tyler Roberts and Amadou Bakayoko.

BLACKBURN 4 MK DONS 1

BLACKBURN brushed aside MK Dons thanks to goals from Derrick Williams, Charlie Mulgrew (2) and Dominic Samuel, with Ed Upson replying. Rovers boss Tony Mowbray said: ‘It was just what I was looking for.’

ROTHERHAM 0 CHARLTON 2

PATRICK BAUER and Josh Magennis got the goals as Charlton took advantage of Rotherham’s wasteful finishing. Charlton boss Karl Robinson said: ‘We looked really classy.’

BLACKPOOL 2 OLDHAM 1

GARY BOWYER hailed one of the best halves of his career as Blackpool sank Oldham. ‘It was a pleasure to watch,’ he said. Sean Longstaff and Kyle Vassell put Blackpool in charge before Darius Osei pulled one back.

ROCHDALE 0 BURY 0

TEN-man Bury held out for a draw after having keeper Joe Murphy sent off for hand-ball. Bury boss Lee Clark admitted: ‘I don’t know whether Joe was outside the box or not.’

BRISTOL R 3 FLEETWOOD 1

BILLY BODIN netted his fifth goal of the season for Bristol Rovers. Stuart Sinclair and Ellis Harrison were also on target with Devante Cole replying. Fleetwood manager Uwe Rosler insisted: ‘We chased the game in the right way.’

PLYMOUTH 0 SCUNTHORPE 4

PADDY MADDEN scored twice as Scunthorpe won at a canter, with further goals coming from Tom Hopper and Josh Morris after Plymouth had Antoni Sarcevic sent off.

GILLINGHAM 3 SOUTHEND 3

TOM EAVES scored a hat-trick for Gillingham in a thrilling draw, with Ryan Leonard, Michael Kightly and Simon Cox on target for Southend. Gillingham boss Ady Pennock said: ‘I’m pleased for Tom. He works so hard.’

OXFORD 1 SHREWSBURY 1

OXFORD ended Shrewsbury’s 100 per cent start to the season. Gino van Kessel put the home side ahead before Stefan Payne grabbed a late equaliser, both goals coming late on.
