EuroMillions winner claims record £168m
A TICKET-holder has scooped a record-breaking £168 million EuroMillions jackpot, claiming it in Gran Canaria.
The ticket was validated in El Mirador mall in Las Palmas on the Spanish island. The prize accumulated after no player matched all seven numbers since the start of September.
The winning numbers were 01, 09, 15, 19, 25 and lucky stars 01 and 07. Four UK players matched five numbers and one lucky star to win £900,571 each.
Andy Carter, of the National Lottery, urged UK players to check their tickets. ‘We have champagne on ice,’ he said.
