WHY DO WE GET EAR WAX? ‘Wax is secreteds by the skins of the ear canalc to prevent whatw would be a paradise for bugs – a warm, dark, moist, environment with lots of dead skin as food,’ says Simon Gane, ENT surgeon from The Clear Ear Clinic in London. ‘Sometimes it builds up because we make too much, the canal is too small or there is a narrowing of the outer canal. Excess wax can cause partial hearing loss, but it is easy to treat.’
