Why I’m backing ‘health enemy No 1’
Your article last week called Andrew Wakefield ‘America’s public health enemy No 1’ for his questioning of the MMR vaccine. But I and many others have supported the work of Wakefield, who has tried to help parents by looking into why many infants appear to develop autism and learning difficulties after receiving the jab. Soon after being inoculated, my granddaughter developed autism. She is now 22 and a lovely young woman but, sadly, she will never be completely independent. J. Rose, Shropshire
