TABLE-toppers Shrewsbury maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a hardfought derby draw at Walsall – but have still not won there since 1993.

Stefan Payne’s penalty earned them a point, cancelling out a wonder strike from Dan Agyei

(above) for Walsall. Shrewsbury boss Paul Hurst admitted: ‘I’m getting greedy, I’m feeling disappoint­ed. I don’t think we played as well as we have been doing, but I know that it’s a tough place to come.’

BEN WHITEMAN scored a 10minute hat-trick for Doncaster, with John Marquis also on target. Anthony Wordsworth scored for Southend, who had Anton Ferdinand sent off after the game.

MK DONS 1 BRADFORD 4

BRADFORD swept past 10-man MK Dons for a sixth win in eight games. The home side had Aaron Tshibola sent off after only five minutes before goals from Romain Vincelot, Charlie Wyke (two) and Paul Taylor. Ethan Ebanks-Landell replied.

NORTHAMPTO­N hit a new low as Billy Bodin scored against his old club, before Bristol Rovers ran riot through Ellis Harrison’s double, Rory Gaffney, Liam Sercombe and Dominic Telford.

SECOND-HALF goals from Dan Burn (right) and Nick Powell earned 10man Wigan victory at Scunthorpe.

The goals sandwiched a 57thminute red card for midfielder Lee Evans, who pushed his head into the face of Scunthorpe’s Funso Ojo after being fouled by the Belgian.

Wigan boss Paul Cook vowed not to get carried away, and said: ‘To win six in seven is great, but we’ll keep going because that’s all we can do.’

ROTHERHAM posted only their second away win since April 2016 thanks to Richard Wood’s goal, and manager Paul Warne said: ‘At home we play great football and at places like this with the conditions we have got to be ugly.’

JORDY HIWULA and Amari’i Bell fired Fleetwood to victory, before Alex Fletcher pulled one back late on. Fleetwood boss Uwe Rosler called it ‘a profession­al performanc­e’.

WES THOMAS scored a brilliant solo goal before Ricardinho and Xemi Fernandez wrapped up the win for Oxford, with manager Pep Clotet saying: ‘With this result we managed to confirm that the three bad results were just a blip.’
